We work together with every learner to understand what barriers to learning they have faced and how we can tap into and develop their skills set to help them achieve their goals. With Education, Apprenticeship, Work, and Independence goal paths to choose from, we offer Get SET (Skills, Education and Training) to meet every adult learners’ needs.
Every activity, task, and milestone is set to immediately and practically assist our learners in achieving their unique goals. We don’t follow standardized curriculum, so every session is designed to advance our learners in meaningful ways and at their own pace along their learning journey.
Our professional instructors and tutors meet with learners 1-on-1 for weekly sessions in-office to ensure consistency and individualized support. We also offer a variety of workshops and programs in partnership with other agencies and organizations within our community to provide opportunities for group learning and specialized skills development.
When learners have demonstrated that they have achieved success in their learning goals, we administer Get SET (Skills, Education and Training) Tasks and Milestones to celebrate and validate their hard work and achievements. We continue to follow up with learners who have exited the program after having successfully attained their goals, and past learners are always welcome to return to us for support on new goals.

Drop-in at one of our community locations or schedule a session in-office to learn how to use your smart phone and other devices; video chat platforms; online banking; and social media. Gain an increased confidence in evaluating online information and avoiding scams and suspicious programs online.
Superior Adult Learning (formerly Program Read) has been helping adults gain essential literacy and life skills since 1987. As a not-for-profit organization, it provides one-on-one support to English-speaking individuals who are out of school and living in the Sault Ste, Marie, Ontario area; are over the age of 18; and who want to improve their reading, writing, math, or digital skills.
Through its FREE programs, the centre provides the tools that adults need to build confidence, gain independence, and secure meaningful employment.
One-on-one sessions are typically held in-office and last one hour each week, between the hours of 9am and 4pm. Instructors and tutors focus on each learner’s individual needs, interests, and skills to help them achieve their goals.
