Superior Adult Learning was founded as Program Read in 1989 by a handful of educators who believed that no adult in Algoma should be held back by gaps in their literacy or numeracy. Decades later we're continuing to evolve with the needs of our community – meeting our learners where they are and providing them the tools they need to get where they want to go.
We’re passionate about empowering our learners to live the life they deserve – through skills upgrading, connection to community supports and resources, and individualised mentorship and support. Our team of dedicated instructors and tutors come from a wide variety of professional backgrounds and bring to the table experience, knowledge, and a passion for learning and supporting others.
Helping people gain the skills and confidence they need to participate in our community is the right thing to do, but it also strengthens us.

We get to know you. Your tutor or instructor will build a connected and professional working relationship with you to ensure you get the most out of the time you spend working toward your goals and that you always have the support you need.
Tell us where you want to go. We build backward from there — not from a textbook.
Adult learners have to balance a lot in life like family, work, and more. You set the pace for your learning, and we will never ask for more than you can give.
No fees, no upsells, no surprise costs. Our funding comes from government funding, donations, and grants — not from learners.
